Questions

What is in the Song Starter MIDI Kit?

48 chord progressions from hit songs in 8 genres. Each one comes as a genre-style starting arrangement: a chord part, a bassline and a drum groove, as separate MIDI files and as a 3-track full arrangement. Chords, bass and full arrangement are included in all 12 keys: 1,824 MIDI files in total, plus an index PDF.

Are the basslines and drums copied from the songs?

No. Only the chord progressions come from the songs, and chord progressions aren't owned by anyone. The basslines and drum grooves are original genre patterns written for this kit, and there are no melodies.

Can I use it in commercial releases?

Yes. Use the MIDI in your own music, commercial or not, with no credit needed. Please don't resell or share the kit itself.

Will the drums work with my drum rack?

The drums use the General MIDI map (kick 36/C1, snare 38, clap 39, closed hat 42, open hat 46, crash 49, toms 45/48/50), which most drum racks and kits in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro and other DAWs follow.

How is it different from MIDI Pack PRO?

MIDI Pack PRO gives you 72 progressions as chord parts in 6 playing styles. The Song Starter Kit adds bass and drums in the style of each genre, so you can drop in a complete groove and start writing on top.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. If it isn't useful to you, email contact@thesonicsecrets.com within 30 days of purchase and you'll get a refund.

Song titles are listed for reference only: they show where each chord progression is heard (checked against published transcriptions, sources on the chords-by-genre pages). The Sonic Secrets is not affiliated with any artist or label.
